Search view blocks navigation, requires two steps to switch views

Description: When the user opens the map, then activates the search bar, and then taps the Home button, nothing seems to happen. However, if the user then manually closes the search, they are taken directly to the Home screen.

This indicates that the tab switch (e.g. to Home) is queued behind the open search view, but not executed immediately. This two-step behavior is unintuitive and breaks expected navigation flow. From the user’s perspective, it feels like the app is not responding.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the Map tab.

  2. Tap the search bar.

  3. Tap the Home button (bottom nav).

  4. Observe: nothing happens.

  5. Manually close the search view (e.g. tap back or “X”).

  6. You are now taken to Home, even though it appeared nothing happened before.

Expected result: Tapping a navigation tab (Home, Map, etc.) while search is open should instantly close search and switch view, no extra step should be needed.

Actual result: Search must be manually closed before the view changes, even if the user already tapped another view.
